How to Prevent Diabetes:
It's Never Too Late to Start

Learning how to prevent diabetes (or diabetes mellitus prevention) starts by being aware of your risks and by making the important, healthy lifestyle changes described here. Preventing type 2 diabetes is possible. Start now because it is never too late.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is calling type 2 diabetes an epidemic. The American Diabetes Association says that 8% of the U.S. population has diabetes… that’s 24 million people, and that number is rising fast… and 57 million people have early diabetes or pre diabetes. 50% of pre-diabetics will go on to develop type 2 diabetes.

It’s a deadly disease and just too common in our society today. Our fast-paced, fast food lifestyle is the perfect breeding ground for this disease.

To make matters worse, 80% of diabetics will die of heart disease… our #1 killer. Is that reason enough to make some changes?

I am very passionate about educating others on how to prevent diabetes. I have lost many friends and family members to type 2 diabetes and recently, several others have developed the disease.

So, let’s do something about it, shall we?

Our focus is on type 2 diabetes here. And here’s the good news (I love giving the good news!):

It’s definitely possible to delay
or even prevent type 2 diabetes!

Here’s how…

It’s all about making slight changes to your lifestyle.

Awareness and Education

As I’ve said throughout this site: Awareness is the key. To learn how to prevent diabetes, you must educate yourself. You don’t know what you don’t know.

Are you thin or overweight?

If you are thin and don’t need to lose weight, guess what? You can still become diabetic!

If you are overweight, it’s time to release some fat. Just a small amount of weight loss will do tremendous things for your health. How do you lose weight in a healthy way? I thought you would never ask! That’s what this site is all about.

Whether you are thin or overweight, you can help with type 2 diabetes prevention by maintaining a triad of healthy lifestyle choices…

The Healthy Triad

As Dr. Ray Strand says, author of Healthy for Life… if you choose any one of these things below, you will have ok results. Pick any two and you’ll have good results. But pick all three, and your results will be phenomenal.

My 12 Week Program is based on these principles… and yes, the results are phenomenal.

1. Healthy, Low Glycemic Diet

2. Exercise

  • Learn the benefits of exercise when it comes to disease prevention and healthy blood sugar levels

  • Pick out some easy exercises that will get your body moving… it’s easier than you think!

3. Cellular Nutrition

Medical literature has been showing us that oxidative stress is at the root of many of our degenerative diseases today… including type 2 diabetes.

Oxidative stress can cause constriction and hardening of your capillaries and arteries, making it hard for the insulin to pass from the blood stream into your cells to do its job.

A good nutritional supplement program with high quality vitamins, minerals and antioxidants can, among many other things…

  • Decrease the risk of degenerative disease

  • Increase the ability of the body to fight oxidative stress

  • Improve your insulin sensitivity

And those are the basics of how to prevent diabetes!

What’s great about the healthy triad is that, in addition to keeping your body healthy by reducing oxidative stress and maintaining your blood sugar in a normal range… if you need to lose weight, you get the side effect of weight loss as well!

Can’t beat that!
